چکیده

To exactly answer which density region that some frequently used symmetry-energy-sensitive observables probe, for the first time, we make a study of decomposition of the sensitivity of some symmetry-energy-sensitive observables. It is found that for the Au+Au reaction at incident beam energies of 200 and 400 MeV/nucleon, frequently used symmetry-energy-sensitive observables mainly probe the density-dependent symmetry energy around 1.25ρ0 (for pionic observables) or 1.5ρ0 (for nucleonic observables). Effects of the symmetry energy in the low-density region is in general small but observable. The fact that the symmetry-energy-sensitive observables are not sensitive to the symmetry energy in the maximal baryon-density region increases the difficulty of studying nuclear symmetry energy at super-density.

Revealing the collision energy dependence of η/s in RHIC-BES Au+Au collisions using Bayesian statistics

We investigate the collision energy dependence of η/s in a transport + viscous hydrodynamics hybrid model. A Bayesian analysis is performed on RHIC beam energy scan data for Au + Au collisions at √ sNN = 19.6, 39, and 62.4 GeV. The resulting posterior probability distributions for the model parameters show a preference for a larger value of η/s at 19.6 GeV compared to 62.4 GeV, indicating depen...

Hard probes created through large momentum transfers are used to study the properties of QCD matter created in heavy-ion collisions, by comparing the measurements to those in p+p collisions. Jets, and the "quenching" or suppression of jets in the medium created in heavy-ion collisions, are studied through various different observables. We present the most recent measurements from √ sNN = 200 Ge...

The structure of equivariant cohomology in non-abelian localization formulas and topological field theories is discussed. Equivariance is formulated in terms of a nilpotent BRST symmetry, and another nilpotent operator which restricts the BRST cohomology onto the equivariant, or basic sector. A superfield formulation is presented and connections to reducible (BFV) quantization of topological Ya...
